Loire Valley Castles:

What could be better than staying at Clos des Maçonnières to enjoy the atmosphere of historic Loire Valley Castles? Spreading from East to West, within 100 kms you can travel around the Loire Valley and take time to explore the world-famous castles and others lesser known ones which will captivate you.

 

The most Orientals are Blois, Chambord, Cheverny or Chaumont sur Loire, If you go down along the river Loire, you arrive at the magnificent castle of Amboise, a former stronghold of Francis Ist, overlooking the town and the river.

The Château de Valmer surprises with its stunning garden, conservatory, in which very old varieties of vegetables have been preserved. The castle of La Bourdaisière hosts some 600 species of heirloom tomatoes.

 

About twenty kilometres away, famous for its famous gallery on the river Cher, lies Chenonceau whose architecture is so unusual.
Going south we discover the medieval city and castle of Loches. This was the former stronghold of Charles VII and Louis XI.
